Artist Interview with Liz Carmona


Liz Carmona is a photographer based in Mexico who is always driven to learn more about photography - there's always something to study! We had the opportunity to interview her and learn more about her process!

Q: When did you start taking photographs and why did you continue?

A: I started studying in 2012, in 2013 I started taking photos of other people, I continued because I discovered that photography makes me happy and it is my passion.

 

Q: Which is your favorite Lensbaby lens and why?

A: The Edge 80! I learned to handle it very well and I am very comfortable, I feel very versatile, Sol45 is another of my favorites because I feel similar and the twist I love the effect.

Q: What tips do you have for beginners just learning how to use the Edge 80?

A: Be patient, don't panic and practice a lot.

 

 

Q: What professional photographers have influenced your work, and how do you incorporate their techniques into your photographs?

A: Zony Maya and him I learned techniques to pose, David Silva was my mentor and from him I learned the passion for photography.

Q: What is the most difficult part of being a photographer?

A: People.

 

Q: Do you have formal training as a photographer or are you self-taught? What was that journey like?

A: A bit of both, I have never stopped studying. Whenever I can, I take extra courses, study with well-known photographers in my country, and the learning process does not end.

Q: What details do you believe make the best photographs?

A: Not lose simplicity. Look for beauty in even the smallest details and be brave and daring.

 

Q: What inspires you most?

A: Just taking the camera inspires me, think about the result, and observe.

 

Q: Tell us your favorite quote!

A: "Blessed are the humble, for theirs will be the kingdom of heaven."

Q: What is your favorite subject to photograph?

A: Boudoir

 

Q: How would you describe your photography style?

A: Simple

 

Q: What is the most rewarding part of being a photographer?

A: The compliment to the result and the publication.

A: Empathy

I started in photography, in 2012, increasing my knowledge in different media and various practices, formally starting as a Photographer in 2013. I became a children's photographer, later seeking to evolve I specialized in boudoir photography, maternity and portraiture, which is where I currently work..I participated as a collaborator with the Turicia company, with different participations and company events, all in the photographic field, in the same way as a photography teacher at EduMac.I am a freelance photographer, I do sessions by contract and event.
