The travelling OMNI
I have been eyeing the Lensbaby Omni filter system for a while. I was so excited when I found out it was part of the traveling lens project for Hello Pros! The Omni is a creative filter system (not a lens). It was so easy and fun to use. You simply take a metal plate (add the appropriate step ring if needed), add the magnetic sliders if they are not already attached, and then screw it to your lens. Now you’re ready to play with the filters!
The OMNI system comes with three different filters —
- Crystal Seahorse
- Rainbow Film
- Stretch Glass
These filters add creative bokeh and colourful flares to your images. They also add some light distortion. The best part is you get to create it all in-camera! You don’t need to limit yourself to just one filter at a time. Pair them up! If you end up loving the Omni System, you can also get a crystal expansion pack and a colour expansion pack.
Almost daily, I follow my kids around and document. The OMNI, in my opinion, works best for creative portraits. I played around with the system mostly indoors. I loved how the filters added interest and sparked my creativity!

I think the rainbow film was my favourite wand to play. I found I used it the most. This is definitely something I am adding to my list from Santa this year. Here are some of my favourite images from my time with the system.
