Soft Focus II Optic Only

With an aperture range from f/2.5 to f/22, the Soft FocusII optic from Lensbaby is a new-and-improved versionof one of the earliest and, recently, most sought-afteroptics in Lensbaby’s Optic Swap System, the originalSoft Focus optic. Compatible with all of Lensbaby’scurrent and legacy Optic Swap lens bodies, the SoftFocus II improves on its predecessor by adding a12-blade manually adjustable internal aperture to it’s unique and versatile drop-in magnetic aperture system.

When shot at its brightest aperture settings, the Soft Focus II creates an impressionistic image with subtle sharp detail beneath. Rendering a color palette tending toward soft pastels at brighter apertures and producing a remarkably flat field of focus, this optic makes possible images that are impossible to achieve with any other lens. Stopped down to f/8 or darker, the Soft Focus II produces beautifully detailed, traditionally sharp images with a large central area of focus and out-of-focus edges on full-frame sensors and 35mm film. Quick variability of the optical effect from impressionistic and full of glow to contrasty and sharp is made possible by the internal 12-blade aperture that is adjusted by turning the front of the optic.

Please note: If you do not have an Optic Swap Compatible Lens Body you can NOT use this optic. You can purchase the optic with the Lensbaby Fixed Body. The optic will fit in any of the Lensbaby Optic Swap Compatible Lens Bodies including Composer Pro II.

Demo Soft Focus II Optic Only

There is a learning curve with this lens but not bad if you have used other Lensbabies. Remember to not bend this one like on the other ones; it's not meant to be bent. I have been able to get sharp pictures with a f/4 and dreamy ones with f/2.5 I am really liking the lens now that I'm past the beginners stage and I love that you don't have to put in disks to change the f stop!
