Tell a more powerful story with the Edge 35 Optic. Create a side-to-side, slice of focus effect in any direction, enveloped in smooth blur & bokeh.
The Composer Pro II lens body tilts and swivels, moving the area of focus. Simply swap out the inside optic, to create a variety of selective focus effects at different focal lengths.
Draw the viewer’s eye, highlight details in the foreground & background and blur out distractions.

Try shooting from up above, at a brighter aperture, with heavy tilt to create a magical miniature look.
A wider 35mm focal length to capture more of that landscape, cityscape or street scene in the frame.

The Edge 35 Optic seems to be a really great focal length, and it's easy to create blurred effects by gently pushing the lens around, as the whole configuration is extremely intuitive. I like that you can instantly see the effect the aperture has by twisting the ring. And as a bonus, as most of my lenses are relatively heavy, this one is nice and small and light, so I can easily stick it in my camera bag and have this ready to go. Then finally, I love the fact that they have a K-Mount for Pentax. Not everyone does. If you want to have a lot of fun and experiment and create sensual, evocative, or dreamy images easily, this is a great creative choice.
Great angle of view for the chunk of glass that it is!! Sharp as a tack on the slice of focus when the aperture is wide open!
it’s a familiar objective, since I already have the 50 and 80. I find it a bit less sharp in certain situations or let’s say extraordinarily sensitive when you want to get focus for far objects. But it’s of course not meant for that! In the end, it’s just fine there, even though perhaps a bit less awesome than the other 50 and 80. Still, a solid purchase! But the true surprise is the new design of the lens: it doesn’t go into the lens goblet like before, it screws directly in it, so the front stays free and the back is protected. I love that design. I incidentally bought an edge 50 at the same time, because the old one had broken (used it a lot). But its design was not updated to the screw-in design, which I felt it to be a missed opportunity.
Wow! The optic is hefty! I have the Edge 80 already and this one is heavier at over 1/2 a pound. I was not expecting that. The optic is awesome though. The slice is beautiful. The 35mm focal length is great for capturing my surroundings. It adds cool effects to pretty much any subject. I'm enjoying playing around with it.
