Q: What is your favorite shoot you've ever done?

A: That's a hard question to answer, I like to free range roam around and react to what I find.

Q: What inspires you to reach for your camera?

A: I try to get out at least once a week with camera (injuries permitting) usually it's the light or the feeling of a place or object that I want to hold on to.

Q: What are your favorite Lensbaby Lenses to use in your session?

A: The Velvets are still my favs, the 56 was the first art lens I ever bought, love the OMNI effects also.

Q: How did you hear about Lensbaby, and what encouraged you to purchase a LB lens?

A: It was when I had first started posting my photos, someone asked me if I had used a Lensbaby, so I investigated 2015 I think.

Q:What was your journey to becoming a photographer like?

A: I had always been an artist, I had quite an intense time of loss and bereavement, photography took me out, helped me find my joy again.

Q: What is your favorite subject to photograph and how would you describe your photography style?

A: Nature and flowers, reflections.......dreamy bit expressionistic abstract. The feeling of it is the most important thing for me.

Heather Maree OwensI come from an arts background (painting /jewellery) studying and then going on to teach jewellery at Hungry Creek art school. But then by some happy accident I found my way to photography about 4 years ago and have completely fallen in love with it. I look at it like the camera and lens is a net to catch not just the moment and what is seen, but also the beauty and feeling of it. My approach to photography is much the same as I applied to all my other art, experimental, non traditional, always with the thought that if you don’t know you can't do something sometimes you can and that experimenting and the knowledge you gain from that is the most valuable. My especial love is vintage and unusual lenses, some of which I have modified myself. I mostly shoot for myself and my own enjoyment but it pleases me no end that others find pleasure in my images.
