Lensbaby Unplugged Member of the Week
Interview with Elora Viano
Q: What is your favorite shoot you've ever done?
A: A lot of my work with the lensbaby is personal. Mostly of nature and my family but I have started using it for another project focused on documentary family images and it is such a wonderful tool!
Q: What inspires you to reach for your camera?
Q: What are your favorite Lensbaby Lenses to use in your session?
A: Trio 28 - I love how I have three lenses in one and it is small and compact!
Q: How did you hear about Lensbaby, and what encouraged you to purchase a LB lens?
A: Seeing lots of amazing work online. I wanted to buy one because I loved the beautiful effect in camera and the surprise of never quite knowing what will happen.
Q:What was your journey to becoming a photographer like?
A: Very long! I have been doing photography since I was a teenager but only recently feel like my work has grown to express my voice the way I want it to.
Q: What is your favorite subject to photograph and how would you describe your photography style?
A: Everything! My favourite subjects are people and nature. I would describe my style as a natural approach, not quite documentary but not lifestyle either.
Q: What do you love the most about photography?
A: I love how photography can tell a story or share a vision with no need for words. It is an international and beautiful way of communicating. I also find it so therapeutic for me.
Q: What helps you when you're struggling with a creative block?
A: Taking a break. I take a break from social media and I do something creative that isn’t photography. I paint, do macrame or challenge myself to learn something new. It usually resets me after a while and I am back and eager to go!
Q: Would you consider yourself an adventurous photographer, or do you tend to stay in your comfort zone?
A: A bit of both. I do have my images I love to take, but I also love to experiment! I am known for sticking stuff in front of the lens answer climbing into awkward positions to get something different!
Q: What else would you like to see from Lensbaby in the future?
A: It would be amazing to see a print magazine featuring all the incredible lensbaby work out there!
