Q: What is your favorite shoot you've ever done?

A: As soon as possible in spring, I prepare my garden containers and create growing flower arrangements in each. Then I aim for early morning photoshoots as often as possible. Every shoot is special!

Q: What inspires you to reach for your camera?

A: In warm weather, I shoot from 3 to 6 mornings a week.

Q: What are your favorite Lensbaby Lenses to use in your session?

A: I have 2 Lensbaby lenses; Velvet 56mm and Composer Pro II with Sweet 80. I use them both depending on what results I am looking for.

Q: How did you hear about Lensbaby, and what encouraged you to purchase a LB lens?

A: I think I must have seen a post of a flower on-line that mentioned LB and I knew I had to have one!

Q:What was your journey to becoming a photographer like?

A: My love of photography goes back to my early 20’s when I received a 2nd hand Voitlander camera. With this manual film camera, I made it my mission to document family gatherings and special events.

Q: What is your favorite subject to photograph and how would you describe your photography style?

A: Portraits of people and flowers are my favourite subjects. With people, I try to capture the essence of the person and with flowers, I focus on what makes that particular flower special.

Q: What do you love the most about photography?

A: When a person sees a photo I have taken of them, I want them to feel proud. With a flower, it is all about the beauty and seeing it from a different perspective.

Q: What helps you when you're struggling with a creative block?

A: Sometimes just taking a step back and going for a walk or it could be turning the pages of a beautiful book of paintings. Talking to a special person can be helpful.

Q: Would you consider yourself an adventurous photographer, or do you tend to stay in your comfort zone?

A: I am always trying to see things differently, looking for a different perspective.

Q: What else would you like to see from Lensbaby in the future?

A: For now it would be more Lensbaby lenses in my bag.
