Q: What is your favorite shoot you've ever done?

A: My favourite type of shoots are wandering round gardens and meadows soaking in the beauty of nature all around. I'm inspired by my own garden which is full of native wild flowers and is a haven for wildlife.

Q: What inspires you to reach for your camera?

A: I shoot as often as I can and always have my camera with me ready for the unexpected.

Q: What are your favorite Lensbaby Lenses to use in your session?

A: The Velvet 56 is my go to lens of choice, I love the soft glow which enhances my floral subjects.

Q: How did you hear about Lensbaby, and what encouraged you to purchase a LB lens?

A: Mainly through talking to photographic friends and seeing the results they were getting from the Lensbaby optics.

Q:What was your journey to becoming a photographer like?

A: For many years I have been a more traditional photographer, taking mainly landscapes and seascapes. In the last few years though I have been drawn to the more artistic side of photography and am revelling in the freedom this gives me.

Q: What is your favorite subject to photograph and how would you describe your photography style?

A: Mainly flowers and plants with the occasional foray into multiple exposures and ICM's. I would describe my photographic style as abstract rather than representational.

A: Being lost in the moment.

Q: What helps you when you're struggling with a creative block?

A: Seeing a flower unfurling or a colourful meadow always gets me reaching for my camera.

Q: Would you consider yourself an adventurous photographer, or do you tend to stay in your comfort zone?

A: I would consider myself adventurous, I like to push the boundaries of what my camera will do at times.

Q: What else would you like to see from Lensbaby in the future?

A: A big question, I really need to explore more of what you have to offer before I answer that one!

A love of ‘impressionist’ painters such as Monet and Turner has increasingly moved me to more abstract forms of photography like multiple exposures, ICM and the use of specialist lenses such as the Lensbaby. I'd drawn to using these techniques to connect with nature in a way that conventional photography doesn’t always accomplish.
