My love of the 85mm focal length and also macro photography led me to purchase the Velvet 85. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect and wasn't at all convinced that I'd love manual focus. I couldn't have been more wrong. This is a quality lens, well built and heavy, and surpassed my expectations given its price. I absolutely love the glowy, dreamy effect I can get at wider apertures, but also that I can stop down and get a tack sharp portrait. Learning manual focus along with the creative abilities of this lens have reignited my passion for photography. The macro capabilities are the icing on the cake. I can't say enough about this lens.
