Let me start with the positive: - The tilt lock on this PL version is much improved compared to the standard Composer Pro II. There are no clicks and it's a smooth locking that holds much tighter. - PL mount and cap work nicely, as expected. The negative: - To my surprise I noticed that the PL version allowed for significantly less tilt as the focusing barrel hits the PL locking ring. A quick mockup in Photoshop (which is only a rough measurement and by no means fully accurate) shows a +15°tilt on the EF Composer Pro II. On the more than 4x times as expensive PL version the tilt is nearly cut in half. Instead of the claimed 15° it seems to be closer to 8°. - Needless to say the price seems completely unjustified and one of those gross up-charges of 'cinema gear'. - Lastly the front of the Sweet 35 lens turns to change the aperture. Unlike the Edge lenses that means using a lightweight mattebox is completely impossible. A stack of screw on filters would be the only option here.
