Q: What is your favorite shoot you've ever done?

A: That's a tough question! I think the ones I was by my own, no other appointments, just nice and quite.

Q: What inspires you to reach for your camera?

A: It can be anything that catches my eye! Beautiful flower, my kids, nice light... and little imperfections that makes life perfect.

Q: What are your favorite Lensbaby Lenses to use in your session?

A: Nr #1 Twist, this one is so beautiful for the details in macro and still have wonderfull bokeh. Plus, it's the best portrait lens! Nr #2 Sweet 50, for details and bokeh. Nr #3 all of the others!

Q: How did you hear about Lensbaby, and what encouraged you to purchase a LB lens?

A: I saw a picture taken with a Sweet optic and immediately liked it. Then I got a voucher of my colleages and got myself the original Spark. And then all the others followed... so addicting!

Q:What was your journey to becoming a photographer like?

A: Fun! I love to play around and see what I can get. Over the last years it became a real therapeutic thing for me, very important to shut up the chaos in my head. So the actual photographing is more important to me than the actual picture. Plus I love "imperfections" in my pictures; perfection is boring! Life is not perfect and that's what's makes it interesting! So I love the journey, but with Lensbaby I also love the possibilities. They are endless!

Q: What is your favorite subject to photograph and how would you describe your photography style?

A: 'Small nature'; a mushroom, a flower, a butterfly or ladybug, a jack-go-to-bed-at-noon. Just a single small subject and a complementary background/surrounding. Like I said before, photographing means peace and quite in my head, instead of chaos. So, keeping it simple. That's something I long for in puctures and in life.

Q: What do you love the most about photography?

A: Like I said before; on the one hand it's my therapy, on the other hand it makes me show the world how I (want to) see. This journey is fantastic!

Q: What helps you when you're struggling with a creative block?

A: A photo assignment with a due date. Best assignments are the ones that are way out of your comfort zone! That's why I uploaded the picture of the little lock next to the macro's; It inspired me again.

Q: Would you consider yourself an adventurous photographer, or do you tend to stay in your comfort zone?

A: Every once in a while I'll do something out of my comfort zone; it's refreshing and very inspiring. It gives me more energy to push myself harder. And it gives me new ideas for my journey.

Q: What else would you like to see from Lensbaby in the future?

A: Craig knows: a Twist 85 or 90 mm. With a vignetslider like on the Burnside. And possibly a really close focussing distance like the Velvets. And I wouldn't mind a neat LB T-shirt 😉I'd also love to be an ambassador, but I don't have enough free time to be able to make 10 uploads each month. So I'd love to be an ambassador light version of some kind.

Hi! My name is Bianca and I live in the Netherlands with my two boys and husband. To escape busy daily life I love to make macro or close-up pictures in nature. Lensbaby is almost always on the camerabody, because it let's me make pictures like I (want to) see the world. It's challenging, but so rewarding!
