When did you discover your passion for visual creation?
As a child I was always drawing fantasy landscapes now I draw them using a camera, light, and Lensbaby lenses. Working with a Lensbaby is like painting - focus on whats important and capture the mood.
What does creativity mean to you?
Breaking the rules and letting your inner feelings come out. Explore and never stop your curiosity.
What do you think about the concept of perfection in regards to creative output?
If I want everybody to like my images, I make perfectly composed and sharp images. But when I shoot with my inner feelings it becomes creative and very personal.
What is your favorite part of the creative process?
Most of the time I create images that capture my mood and feelings at that specific time. Selecting the right gear to use makes the image even more powerful.
Where do you find inspiration and motivation for your work?
All around me, especially in nature where I can relieve from daily stress.
How did you discover Lensbaby?
I used to spend hours making my own effects cameras/lenses. I have a lot of old vintage lenses. So I took some apart to start making my own and also did a lot of free-lensing. Finally, I saw something about Lensbaby gear. I thought why not give it a try, so I bought the Composer Pro with Double Glass and was hooked from the first minute.
Why do you enjoy shooting with Lensbaby lenses?
Lensbaby gives us artists what we need - gear to visualize our imagination.
What is your current favorite Lensbaby lens?
I love every new baby and try them out for several months. But after a while, I go back to my beloved Twist 60 in a Composer Pro. The effect it creates by tilting is like a combination of the Edge Optic with a slice of focus effect, surrounded with sometimes unexplainable twisting bokeh and vignetting.
