Kaela Elliott & Sol 45
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, photographer Kaela Elliott embarked on the Pink Portraits Project.
“My mom is a breast cancer survivor and one of my best friend’s mom is fighting breast cancer. This Pink Portraits project is dedicated to them.”
As a project close to her heart, Kaela challenged herself to look outside her usual nature and macro genres and give portrait photography a shot.
“Portraits is not a genre of photography I do very often so I knew it would be a little bit of a challenge. But it would be a fun challenge!”
Using the Sol 45, a group of volunteer models, and an assortment of pink props, Kaela created this series of beautiful, heart-warming portraits
“This lens adds a beautiful blur surrounding a spot of focus. I love the beautiful softness it added to these photos.”
Kaela plans to continue the Pink Portraits Project into the future, and we can’t wait to see how it evolves!
