Announcing our new 80mm f/2.8 portrait optic: the Edge 80.

German engineered glass meets Lensbaby magic. Tilt its Edge-to-Edge sharpness into a sharp slice of focus bordered by smooth blur. Learn more by visiting the Edge 80 hub.

Edge 80 is part of the Lensbaby Optic Swap System.  It is compatible with the Composer Pro, Composer, Muse, Control Freak, or Scout lens bodies. A lens body is necessary to use Edge 80.

All tilt lenses—including our Edge 80—operate on the Scheimpflug principle, which describes the orientation of a plane of focus when the lens plane is tilted at an angle to the imaging sensor plane. This mathematical principle was first applied to correct the distorted perspective common in early aerial photography. We think it can add magic to any subject matter.

That's why we created our amazing interactive Optic Simulator. Start playing with it and you'll soon see how tilting, focusing and changing aperture effect your images.

Award-winning commercial and fine art photographer Fritz Liedtke uses the new Edge 80 Optic, as well as other Lensbaby optics, specialty cameras and printing processes to give his work a beautiful depth. See how he does it in our Creative Photography Tips Video.
