I bought a lensbaby composer (EF mount) for my Canon 400D. It works perfectly, except I dun have AF confirmation from the camera. Using naked eyes to focus manually is a painful experience, especially through a tiny viewfinder. My question is if I can somehow get the auto focus confirmation turned on?

No you can't. It would require a microchip to communicate with the camera, which would make the lens cost more.
AF confirmation is also quite useless if you account for a type of lens LB is. If you take an m42 adaptor ring with a chip and somehow attach it to LB replacing its original mount,
it will work but it will be tricky to make it fire the AF sensor. I think one should look at custom focusing screens for better MF, but that raises metering error problems.

You'll get used to it. We all do. Well... I grew up with full manual cameras because I never wanted to buy one, so I used one from the 60s till just last year. It's still kicking though. :)

I'm the owner of a Lensbaby Muse Double Glass on Nikon mount. I purchased a programmable AF confirmation chip for old Nikon lenses (available here http://cgi.ebay.fr/AF-confirm-chip-4-Nikon-D60-D70-D80-D90-D200-D300-D700-/350356246369 ). It's very easy to glue this chip on the Lensbaby Nikon mount. Now I have AF confirmation, metering functions, EXIF header correctly filled, and flash working fine ! I think the same operation could be done for Canon mount.
