In 1999, my mother found out that she was dying of brain cancer. She decided to have all of her gold jewelry melted down, and five of these rings made. There was one for our Dad, and four for her children. I had not been able to wear mine recently because it had gotten to small for me. I just had it re-sized, and it turned out amazing. I'll never take it off again...
