Hi
I think it doesnt work that much because - First one: the black hole is out of the focus spot but is too much attractive. it's confusing. - Second one: The subject is too small. Anyway, very nice colors and sorry for my 2 cents comments... :) |

Thk for the comment.
It is very hard to shot marco. I try many thing but still cant focus what i want. The first pic is the best so far. As for the 2nd pic, we can zoom in more to take pic on the tiny creature? |

First pic:wrong focus point, cropped too much.
Second:looks good,as it shows more than one of those tiny fellows, maybe a larger sweet spot would have been even better! TRYING IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS FAILURE. Homer Simpson |

I like both images.
1st shot i would try either moving back to get the whole flower in, or moving in closer so you do not get any background. Also i usualy add a bit of saturation and Vibrance in Photoshop (but i shoot RAW). If your camera has live-view that can help although i do not often use it, but for macro it can be handy. Keep trying! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/11/2011 10:30PM by hp. |

Well,in pic 1,maybe you should have focused in the middle of the flower, and also taken one or two steps back.

I like the first shot too. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. When I shoot (non-flash) macro I use a tripod and cable release more often than not otherwise the shot composition falls apart. I don't have that steady of a hand anymore (injury to neck). Live View is essential and also affords me the opportunity to zoom in on my image for precise focus control. Give it a try and see if you do not notice good results. Practice makes for perfect blur;-) Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. (Thomas A. Edison) |

I like the first one very inviting colors, the focus could be a bit deeper but non the less its a great image.
