Herne Bay is an English seaside town, near Margate in Kent. Its popularity has decreased recently, particularly in January!

The cannon is in the base of the world's first free-standing clock tower, built in 1837.

Very nicely done Matthew. The cannon image is very special. Spectacular composition.

Hey Matthew,
I especially like #2 and #3. Loved the compositions and how you chose the sweet spots.

Nice set and mood - like the simplicity of the second and third images, also.

There's nothing quite like the British seaside out of season. Great series.

Thanks all for your kind comments. It's a 400 mile round-trip for me, I was there for work and took a walk along the seafront after my meeting.

Herne Bay pier used to be the longest pier in Great Britain, now only the pier head remains.

Thanks for taking the time to look.
