Added two photos from the same location as presented earlier this month.
#2 is the original, only converted to B/W and adjusted levels.
#1 is the same, layered with two Spring painterly textures (Tempes Sea & Eau de Nil in different blending modes and blurred)

I've printed both today; #1 is "clearly the best" (on matte paper, PermaJet Portrait White, that is.). On screen simple B/W wins, I agree. gauteov |

Nice, I like the 1st picture the best because of the atmosphere; in the 2nd photo the atmosphere seems kind of heavy, cold and depressing even a bit spooky.
The 1st one has a much lighter feel to it, it kind of looks like it came right from a fantasy movie or so to me. ***Painting with light is the sweetest delight*** |
