Lensbaby

I have been lusting after the Tilt Transformer ever since I first heard of it so when I found a Nex 3 on clearance I had no trouble rationalizing the purchase.

As photographer for our local roller derby team, the Push-Up Brawlers, I have experimented with a Lensbaby at bouts before and came away with some cool results. When my new Tilt Transformer arrived I could hardly wait until the next bout to try shooting some derby. I used the Nikon 35mm 1.8 for these shots. Even though I'm still pretty new to the TT and need a lot more practice - I'm very pleased with the results!

That first shot is what the TT is all about! Very well done.

Thanks John, I should warn you that Roller Derby photography is addictive! This was the first year for our team and it's been fantastic watching them grow and develop their teamwork.

Derby girls appreciate photographers. You should think about contacting the team and ask if you they would like you to come shoot a pre-season scrimmage or even take some shots during practice. I'm sure they would appreciate shots of the team in action that they can use on their website.
