When I'm on the road I use my ipad to dump RAW photos I shoot, but I never found a good processing tool on the ipad until las week, when Snapseed was released (see my full review here: [apprentiphotographe.com])

Last week in California I finally splurged on a Sweet 35, so the following set is photos shot with the Sweet 35 and processed with Snapseed. I hope you enjoy them !

1. Is the Golden Gate Bridge shot from Crissy Field. I think the light sepia really works here.

2. Is a street saxophone player at the corner of Market and Geary (I think)chatting up a passer-by (or vice versa).

3. Is the Russian Orthodox church on Geary.

4. Is a street drummer on market (only in SF!)

5. Is the street sign for Geary Bvd.

7. Is the St Monica church on Geary.

8. Is the front of the Hotel Metropolis on Mason St, just on the edge of the Tenderloin.

9. Is the San Francisco skykline seen from Crissy Field.

I really like the Sweet 35. It allows me to shoot at a wider angle without the loss of luminosity and increased distorsion of the wide-angle accessory. I also discovered something very simple but effective: you can focus at F/2.2 and then switch to F/13 with a good focus. Focusing at small apertures is really tricky otherwise.

Sammael99 well. done, my favs are 1 and 8. always like the description of your photos, it really helps to make a "picture"/history behind the photos.

Great shots! I like #1 the most. And I agree with Srpatife, I like the descriptions of your images. They make them more than just images. I have to remember that...

I like bridges .. not sure why I shoot so many of them actually, guess it doesn't matter. This one looks to me like a foggy soft dawn .. I like it a lot.

Thanks all !

Da Lowrider, ironically, this wasn't dawn, more like late morning (probably around 10.15 AM) but I think the yellow suggests an earlier hour.

For what it's worth, Snapseed just got an update this morning. It doesn't fix any of the biggies (apparently, EXIF aren't crushed anymore when saving, but they still are when sending to FLICKR (d'uh!)

Still, it's still as fun and fast to use.

Thanks, emurph2 !

One thing I should add on the Sweet 35 as I use it more often is that the blur is not quite as pleasing as the double glass blur. What I mean by that is that with the double glass, the further out from the sweet spot, the more the picture broke down smoothly into colors. With the Sweet 35, it seems to go through a dissociation phase where lines are doubles, etc. which in some cases is not so aesthetically pleasing.

I need to experiment with this some more though before I can form a definitive opinion.

The "unpleasant" edges from the sweet 35 can be less annoying with more crop.
Of course you have to compensate for that when composing your picture.

Very nice set. I particularly like the bridge and Greek Orthodox church spires.

Thanks Diane !

Everytime I see the bridge I keep thinking that it would make a great poster with all that empty space on the right left to text...
