Wildlife-photography from the couch.

It all started with my wife buying some bird-food.
As we have some branches of a tree almost touching our window,I had the idea of hanging the food very close to
the window and tying some wildlife-photography.

The idea was to put the camera on the tripod as close as
possible to window and push the button of the remote-control
every time a bird approaches while I am sitting on the couch and working on my computer.
The reality was much more frustrating.
At first it took a few days before the birds accepted the food. Than it took another week to get some of the birds used to the noise of the camera. Another big problem was to chose the branch the bird will chose to sit on. And the worst
was to set the focus, I had to preset the focus approximately because the birds went away each time I approached the camera (the reason why I still don't have a picture of one of the bigger birds). And last but not least I needed sunny weather and the right light.

So, several weeks and more than 1000 shots later, here are the pictures.

Hope you enjoy.

Beautiful. I love the attitude of bird number 8. The set-up makes sense but nature got the last laugh. It was worth the wait.

Well done and what patience you have. I probably would have given up after one day.

Thanks for being persistent, these are some awesome images. #s 3 and 7 in particular are fantastic. Beautiful colors and just the right amount of focus.

Thanks everybody,
but patience was not a problem as I was in the warm working on the computer while waiting.
I think our respect should go to real wildlife-photographers
who spent days and weeks waiting out in the cold.
