This is Leiden (nl) oldest cemetary, and has fallen into disuse since 1975. It is the resting place of Vincent van Gogh's mom, so a perfect place for some (impressionist) foto shooting. I was realy pleased with the tear shaped bokeh in picture no. 3. Please let me know what you think.

Yes. #3 is quite a catch. Nice!

Oh yes, they're all wonderful, but #3 is the pick.

Took some more shots today at the same cemetary, the first three are from an eroded (acid rain?) statue of Mary with Child (getting into that christmas feeling?).

I have a fascination with cemeteries, and the way survivors decorate the graves, and gravemarkers.

I like all of these, and also the mono images - I always ask myself when converting to monotone if colour adds anything to the image - if the answer is no, I try black and white or duotoning.

Image #2 above with the bird shaped aperture is perfect for this aperture with the dappled light coming in through the trees. A very peaceful scene.

At the start, I really like the stone birds on the bird bath. In Norway, too, I see a lot of little birds like this in the cemeteries.

I've just come back from Europe, so still have to go through my images.

I'm impressed, hp. I realize how little I know (but want to learn) when I see images like the teardrop and ghostly face in number three. Well done!

Ehm....it is actualy mostly down to luck (and might i add a great location) I didn't realize the tear shape untill i got home and edited the raw image.

I find a lot of the time that images do not even come out that well when you review them on the camera. Also i shoot RAW only when using LB and have to do quite a lot of editing to get out the right colour or tone. Also often the lightmetering is not that great, usualy i have to underexpose up to two stops to get the correct exposure.

But it is very rewarding...
