Kmac,
I really like this series. Every year I say I'm going to go to the annual roundup, but haven't done it yet. Maybe this year.... Jack |

LOVE these... especially the second one. Reminds me of the books I adored as a child about "Misty" of Chincoteague. I was able to visit once about 20 years ago and see the roundup... quite an amazing thing to see. Your images are just stunning... thanks for sharing them!

I honestly dont like horses, and even though I think the subject matter is quite cliche, especially with soft focus, I think some of the images are nice. Number 3 is what I like the most from the series. However, since its horses, it doesnt really help it a lot. I often wonder; are we commenting on how one use the Lensbaby or the things we take photos of...
I very seldom see anyone actually saying something negative (not that I really am, just voicing an opinion) to any images here, its mainly just "I like number "whatever"", so I thought Id actually express my opinion for once. I think a lot of your images are quite good, just dont like photos of horses, dont ask me why. Technically I think your photos are great :) photoblog:: [www.repost.no] |

Jørund, Thanks for your honesty - it made me laugh - I agree somewhat about the forum but there is such a wide range of LB users on here that I think for the most part it is just an attempt to be supportive (maybe that is why a critique section is included). I welcome all critique and suggestions although for some reason do not post there. As for the horses - I am a relative newcomer to photography - purchased a low end DSLR and one lens just two years ago and LB stuff soon after - I know relatively nothing about technical stuff, photo equipment, etc. but I do love to photograph. The horses were there - the light interesting so...
Patrick, just received the soft focus optic not long ago and have only tried it out a few times - I tend to photograph earlier or later in the day - the one time I used it mid-day did not like the results - I was close to the ocean here and light was very nice - I think I have only used f4 with this optic so far. |

I think these are gorgeous photos, and I think the soft focus optic is the perfect choice for the subject matter. I went to Chincoteague camping several times as a kid and these just bring me back. Really nice work.
