I like the alternative photographic processes. Wet plate collodion is one of them. I always admire original plates. This one is an attempt to recreate the effect in Photoshop. The model is my daughter.
Taken with a Composer/Plastic F8.

His own website has a fair amount of his images (warning some nudity) and has a number of suggestions/protocols on how to achieve the look he gets using alternative processing. Igor, Is this effect helped from a scan of a wet plate? Great effect anyway you created it, How about a tutorial?
I am also looking for a good science fair project for my son. I figure all the kids now think that photography hasalways been digital so a chemistry film experiment could be fun. Any way you could point me in the right direction? Cheers! Soren |

Dennis: thanks for the great link. his work is really inspiring. plates and bromoil prints are something - very pictorial - it simply threw me back to 19 century. Soren: The image was taken with a digital camera. The look and feel is the result of Photoshoping. There is no actual tutorial it is sort of a crafting the image when you know what final image should look like. |
