I'm using a LB2 on my Canon DSLR and just found a cheap Original LB to use on my film SLR (Nikon EM). I was wondering if anyone can share some tips on how on earth am I suppose to focus with the split focus after I bend the LB?

Appreciate some feedback.

THanks

Andrew

Hey Andrew,

Good question, I purchased a split focus screen for my Canon 40d to see if it was easier to focus with my 3g and finally took it off because I found it harder to focus. Maybe somebody here will have some good thoughts on focusing with the split screen that will help you as well as me.

Shurla, thanks for the reply. Gosh, if it works that way on a 40d ... I can't imagine how I'm gonna use it on the EM. Lol. I tried lookin thru the viewfinder, seems I am able to focus a lil better in the light, even without the centre split focus. Well, guess I'll have to risk a roll of film to found out soon.

Andrew,

Not a problem. Well I didn't have much experience with a split prism to start with so maybe you'll be fine.

The real answer to your question is OOOOOps on using the split screen focus .......just ignore the center and use the matte screen to get close focus then maybe you can fine tune the split ......in low light good luck .....try practicing a lot or stop down to at least F5.6 ......look for good light with this combo.

Since your digibody is a Canon, you can always switch optics .....between the Original and the LB 2.0 ....you'll need a special tool to loosen the retaining rings .

PM me for details or go to aRtBending.com where everything gets hacked sooner or later.....:))

Oh thanks for all the tips. I do have a Nikon-Canon adapter, so it's easier for me to use the Orig LB on my Canon.
