My new little Flamingo Flower plant. I love it.
Having lived in Colorado for 34 years, I know it’s really not wise to plant outdoor flowers and plants before mid to late May ~ Mother’s day or even Memorial Day are usually safe benchmarks. Always a chance for snow before that, ya' know... I’m so antsy for Spring this year, I’ve rescued a few indoor plants in dire need of TLC from my neighborhood Home Depot. They were cheap and screaming for some plant love.
I find tending plants soothing ~ it’s good therapy for me. I enjoy repotting, shining, trimming, taking cuttings and rooting them… It grounds me. It is one of the few things that puts me in the moment. Very zen. At one time in my life I was the caretaker of about 100 plants (I had good mountain southern exposure).
So when I’ve had time, particularly in the last couple of weeks, I walk around each morning and visit my growing little community (including whatever variety of fresh cut flowers I have hanging around) ~ camera and Lensbabies in hand. It’s a beautiful, peaceful, meditative way to start the day. I call it my “indoor nature walk.†Someday i'll have my own little botanic garden here. ;-)
i've got so many more to post, but little time. thanks for the indulgence. :D
