Flowers and similar subject matter seem to me a subject matter where the Lensbaby effect becomes less overpowering even at wide apertures with video converters and whatnot attached. The depth of field would normally be blurring everything on other planes than your subject. Your Lensbaby just adds to the quantity and slightly modifies the qualities of that blur.
