I had to work yesterday (saturday). I was art directing a photo shoot... it finished early and as I was driving home I found myself right under the flight path of incoming traffic at Manchester Airport (UK)... I had the baby on my 10d...

Excellent, I especially like the 1st in the 2nd grouping. It appears that the plane is droping right on top of the structure to the left. Wonderful Images.

SUPER SPECTACULAR JOB STEVE!
When I was in College, my roommate was very into the movie "Top Gun" he found a spot that we could go and watch the planes land for hours, they were so close you could reach out and touch them. This was before Denver International, the old airport was "in" the city. Your images took me back there, thanks for sharing! Peggy Peggy The Original LensBabe! ____ www.peggydyer.com |

Very good -- I look forward to the colour versions.
It looks like you had rather better weather last weekend than we did down in Surrey. Ho hum. |

I have a 10D and have ordered myself a LB, any hints, tips or suggestions?
I am assuming that the in camera meter will not work with the LB. BTW Great plane shots! Dennis |

it will meter in av mode (aperture priority), but you will have to compensate frequently +and - as for hints and tips, get your self a big memory card and a spare battery and just fire away... the more you use the baby the intuitive it becomes. steve |

oh... and the old saying... 'be there at f8' (fate)... if you're sitting on the couch dreaming of capturing a great image, it won't happen... I spend most of my spare time wondering around with my camera prepared for that 'moment'.

Love the final approach series.... it is so cool. At work I took a break to watch planes from under the final approach (same angle like your pics) and low and behold some stealth fighters landed. Wish I had my camera at that moment - your so right about the f8 and be there thing... Fortune favors the prepared.
