Today, I learned about ants: These ants were waging a war on our driveway! Depending on the species, Queens can live between 5-30 years. Males live only for a season and spend it mating, (and apparently fighting), and workers are female and live a paltry 1-3 years. Thanks for looking!

Numbers 2, 5 and 6 are excellent photos Sydney! I imagine this battle was waged with a great deal of movement and tough to capture.

Your comments made me laugh, John--I remember watching a black and white movie about gigantic, Monster Ants who had to doused with flames, when I was a kid. (Great, after-school fun). Thanks for adding your input, as well. :)
