I got the Edge 80 on Saturday and immediately shot a couple of test images. Since we no doubt will see digital images from this lens almost exclusively I thought a little bit of good old fashioned film would be nice for comparison. One thing I do notice is that the bokeh tends to be much smoother with digital vs. film, however I love what film can offer for it's other qualities.
These were taken with a Canon 7E, composer Pro, Edge 80, on Lomography Color Negative 100. I shot a whole second roll on Kodak E100VS and that is at the lab now so look for some cross processed shots next week.
These are as scanned, no post processing. Look at that rich color pop. This is a nice glass and the 12 bladed aperture is sweet. ;)
