This year, (since we are raising them from eggs I'd saved last year), we are seeing a higher mortality rate. After giving half to my kinder colleague, I thought I was pretty safe with 13, but now we're down to 10. NOW I understand why the District waited till they were the size of a paper clip to distribute!
