I recently purchased a Sony a77. When I out on my Composer, the camera did not recognize the lens. It told me to go to custom menu to accept. My menu has no such 'custom' function that i could locate on my own or the provided manual. Does anyone at Lensbaby know what the issue here might be - I checked my latest version of the camera and it matches with all the latest updates. Thanks.... By the way, my Sony a700 never had this issue.

I would suggest an email to Lensbaby for an answer to your question.

Some cameras will work only in manual like my Nikon 3100, but my OM Pen works fine in aperture priority; others have to be told to shoot without lens.

ok bsz, the a77 is THE CAMERA TO OWN FOR LENSBABY!!! Why? Peeking!!!! Wow!!! I have had a lensbaby 3g for a while, but it was very dificult to use on the Sony a700, a580, konica minolta 7d that I own, but it is crazy fun and way easier on my a77!! it is SO EASY to see what is focus!!! You all have to try it!!!
Ok, go into the menu, in the second category (looks like a gear), right in the middle it says, "Release x/o lense". Enable it!! that's it! also, I have Peaking set to mid and yellow... Have a blast!! Using this camera is making me yearn for the Composer PRo with the sweet 35, just so that I can have the lensbaby look and the speed that peaking will help me achieve!!! Seriously Lensbaby lovers, you have to try the a77!!!
