Lensbaby

Hello,

I just purchased the Sony NEX 5n. I want to know what lensbaby lenses will work with my camera? Also, what would be recommended for product photography?

Rich, since the NEX is a 4/3 thirds system the Lens body you will need will be the tilt transformer/composer with the NEX/Sony mount.

I have one to fit on my OM Pen, and it rocks as a setup for the lensbaby optics, and has the advantage of using any Nikon lens when the composer section is removed, giving you tilting capability with the Nikon lenses. Your NEX will use this setup in Aperture Priority and will meter for exposure.

I would suggest you start with the tilt transformer/composer with the double glass optic, if I remember correctly, this is the setup Lensbaby ships the unit, it will also have an aperture disc set for the optic. You can add the other optics choices anytime; I like the plastic optic and single glass optic.

EDITED TO ADD:I would assert that most of the optics will serve for product photography in one way or another, You will also have the option of using the Nikon lenses as well. This system and your Nex will make a very good setup for photographing products.
