Now Doro I can relate to this :) I have a couple of didges in my room made for me by an old friend from Nth Queensland, which reminds me, I should make contact after all these years.
David Hudson is a great Didge player , if you like the sound , check out some of his playing. tony Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/13/2012 04:58PM by TG-J. |

thank you all!
Jorgen, a Didgeridoo is the instrument of the aboriginees in (north)Australia. it's basically a pipe - a dead branch of eucalyptus, hollow (eaten by termites or cleaned by men ;-)), no bark, at one end you put some bee wax for better sealing where you put your lips. it is beautifully designed and carved on the outside with ancient style painting. it is probably around 1500 yrs in use. it is hard to play since you have to breath in at the same time as you breathe out through the instrument (this is called permanent breathing and is also common for oboe playing). it produces a very deep, resonating, bass sound with lots of colours and a kind of hypnotic vibe that goes right into the body of the listeners. doro have a wonderful day!
