Crabby even tho Yanks & Aussies essentially speak the same language , I do not understand the meaning of Yard Waste . I know what a yard is ( 3 feet or a piece of land encircled by a fence, ie. junk yard). Waste - Rubbish. But what the heck is Yard Waste and why would anyone put up a sign refusing to take it ? tony

Tony--Yard Waste would be grass, leaves, tree-trimmings etc. The city collects the yard waste for compost so here we have separate dumpsters for such items versus house-hold waste which ends up in a land-fill.

Thanks Johnny. Now I understand, here we refer to it as Green Waste. The irony is, I have just done a shoot for the Brisbane City Council for their Green waste bins. My son is the Green bin poster pinup boy,hehehehe.tony ( or was it the yellow bin ?)
