Hello. Very new to Lensbaby and to the 5100 for that matter.

Is M the only mode the Scout will function? Is there a lens override for "dumb" lenses so other modes can be utilized? I'm also unable to find the proper setting to get the flash to work with the Scout.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!!

Theres a setting on the camera for non-cpu lenses where you set the aperture... that way you can use program or aperture priority

I'm not sure about the 5100 but on the D7000 the ability to input the focal length and maximum aperture for a non-CPU lens is in the Set Up menu.
