I suppose many of you are used to seeing this sort of thread, but i'm not sure what to choose.

I'll explain a little bit:

- I'm a small female photographer.
- I find my Canon 5DII with 85mm a bit heavy, so this might influence which lens I choose, as my hand shakes if i try to shoot with one hand (I don't have an assistant - someone has to hold the reflector!)
- I primarily shoot (high) fashion, commercial and portraiture, but secretly - macro is my guilty pleasure. :D

Please let me know what you think. I can't try it out beforehand as I live in East Africa. I'm going to be doing an erotic nude shoot soon, and i feel the lens baby will help with keeping it artistic (as opposed to simply being classless porn).

Don't think any lens baby will weigh as much as a Canon 85 (especially if you are talking 1.4 or 1.2).

I would check out either the Composer or the Composer pro. Both can be pre bent and then manually focused. Would be hard to use any manual focus lens 1 handed. The Composer Pro has much smoother focusing than original Composer.

Optics used will depend on fov you need and the effect wanted. I would use the 50mm double glass, 35m Sweet 35, the 50mm single glass, and 50mm plastic. Depends on how much sharp detail you want shown.

Might also consider the 1.6 tele attachment that works with all optics except Sweet 35.
thanks and good luck

I agree, the composer or the composer PRO is very good.
One thing:if possible, put the camera and/or the reflector on tripods, would maybe be easier sometimes.
I had some camera weight problems in the past, when i used the Konica Minolta 7D,but since i bought me the new Sony nex-5,the weight problems are gone. Of course, for fashion and studio work,a full size sensor might be better.

TRYING IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS FAILURE.

Best Beginning is the Composer as your Base for everything else. Take a look at the Gallery and Guru Sections and see the effects possible with the different Optics. I have found my most used and workable is the Double Glass followed by the Single Glass. I have owned all the others except for the new Sweet 35 and have found them to be too Hazy and Blurry. I will buy a new Composer Pro with the Sweet 35 in the near future. All of the gear is well made and logical to use.
