Lensbaby & Canon 10D problem!!?? posted by Anonymous User January 01, 2005 03:49AM reply | quote

Hi,

I just got my new Lensbaby & I'm thrilled to try it out...BUT...I can't set the aperature on my Canon EOS 10D when the Lensbaby is attached.

The manual status that the Canon can be put in "M" or "Av" modes. I've tried both & neither option will allow me to set an aperature. The aperature is listed in the camera as "00" (which I've never seen before).

I've removed the Lensbaby & reattached it several times. It "clicks" into place, so I think it's properly mounted to the camera body.

Anybody have any ideas??? I really appreciate the help as I'm thrilled to use my new Lensbaby, but right now I'm stuck.

Thanks!
Adam

I have a 10D and can understand your initial confusion. I, too, use the Av setting and it shows 00... but it is actually whatever aperture you have chosen on the Lensbaby. The meter reads the light correctly and sets the appropriate shutter speed. See how this works for you. Lenore

hmmmm

didn't know AV mode worked... I've been shooting on manual and either guessing initial exposure or using an old weston master V light meter

Both seem to work, although manual mode appears to be more intuitive.
