I know that many others here on the forum share my fascination/obsession with this aspect of optics.

It is a word that , in its broadest sense, well describes what I feel photography is "about".

I leave it to your capable hands, eyes and minds to interpret this concept with your images.

The Eyes Have It.


Photo Submissions:

1. Camera - Any Camera (with LB attached)
2. Time - any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Post-Processing - do whatever you like and the judge will decide if it works.
4. Posting - * Photo Name in the message subject line.* Camera model & Lensbaby used.* Notes -- post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
6. Commenting - No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7. Have FUN!
8. Good luck to everyone.

One challenge every week, on the following schedule:

* New Topic - After winner is declared.
* Posting Starts - Right after topic is announced.
* Posting Ends- 3.30pm PDT/11.30pm GMT (Pacific Time) Tuesday, July 7th, 2009
* Winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
* Winner from this competition decides the theme of the next one (and judges it for a winner) after this competition is closed.

Well, here goes.....

Third Place: A Tie! joby with "Harley Dreams"--GREAT bokeh and combo of out-of-focus and in-focus subject, and steve with "My Ballerina"--Great composition and a darling portrait.

Second Place: Rachel with "I'll catch you in the corner"--I LOVE the sharp focus over so much of the image (not necessarily so easy to accomplish with the LB...a sunny day and small aperture?) and the vibrant colors (shall I call it "gleam"?)

And....

First Place: agroupuk with "Sky above, sky below"--over-all just an incredibly beautiful image. Your title "Sky above, sky below" combined with the subject "Reflection" seems very Apropos in a spiritual/psychological sense. Plus, I have to admit, I'm a huge fan of the illustrations of Maxwell Parrish, and your image really reminds me of that. What can I say? This one "speaks" to me.


Thank you All for your contributions and no, this was not a case of motorcycles vs. kittys...(I happen to love cats...)

Can't wait to see what agroupuk has for us in #35!
