Big Surprise Subject for THIS challenge, Huh?!

Here goes:
1. Subject must be the food item itself--not the utensils, tools, etc.
2. Food must be prepared and ready to be eaten--no raw produce, unless the subject is eaten raw (No, shooting it in RAW format doesn't count...).
3. No pre-packaged products.
4. That said, breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper, tea-time, midnight snack--any food--any time.
5. Points will be given for originality of subject (one wo/man's rare ahi tuna is another's raw fish), originality of title (I'm a closet punster/poet), and general Mouth-Watering-ness.

The Lensbaby has an amazing ability to make just about any subject, no matter how apparently mundane, extraordinary. I can see even a bowl of Lucky Charms being transformed into something beautiful (though I still don't recommend eating it!).

Photo Submissions:

1. Camera - Any Camera (with LB attached)
2. Time - any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Post-Processing - do whatever you like and the judge will decide if it works.
4. Posting - * Photo Name in the message subject line.* Camera model & Lensbaby used.* Notes -- post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
6. Commenting - No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7. Have FUN!

Patience my friend... Think of it like selling on ebay. There is always a lot of activity close the end of the contest.

Tee-Hee! Thanks Joby--Please pardon my histrionics. I spend a fair amount of my time waiting on people (my "day-job" [which I actually do at night] to make ends meet) and this week I've had more than my fair share of the impatient squeaky-wheel types.....it's just fun sometimes to play "the adversary".

LOL I really AM hungry to see what everyone has to offer.

Sorry for the delay--Guess what I've been doing?

Tough choices...but here goes...

First Place--Mark Wade with Salsa Fresca. Love the "recipe" format. The mix of whole ingredients with the finished salsa is a wonderful touch (I love knowing where my food is coming from). Also love the way the sweet-spot plays across he bowl and the salsa and the light is lovely.

Second Place--kmac with "the artful tart" a wonderful still-life.

Third Place--Halima67 with "Cheese please!". Great abstract quality and, what can I say...I'm a fromage-FREAK.

yesmellow--Love that bokeh in the background!
maryemccabe--that focus is perfect and who can turn down chocolate chips? (is it ok if I ate them for dessert instead of breakfast?
