I'm 23 from Aberdeen, Scotland.
I'm afraid, for all you purists, that I got into photography when the digital era began. It was the possibility of taking 200+ photos a day that really fired my enthusiasm. Using my point'n'shoot I realised I wanted more control. After a scout about on the internet and through the magazines I wanted a Minolta Z1. And that was a great camera for creative control.
About a year later I got a reasonably paid job in oil(like a lot of people in Aberdeen) and decided that I could afford to splash out on a 300D.
