Cleaning a Composer Pro body. How? (1 reply)

A few days ago I slipped and dropped my Composer Pro in a pile of sand. I was changing bodies at that moment so there wasnt a cap/optic attached. The body was filled with sand when I picked it up. I tipped it over and let the sand out. I put it away very carefully not to touch the rest anymore to avoid any scratches. Thats also the reason I dont want to go inside the body with a brush or cloth. And Im hesitent to get into action with compressed air and just blow it out. Sand that moves around quickly through compressed air can still cause damage to the optics in the body.

So I was wondering what would happen is I just flushed the body out with water?

I could ask this directly to Lensbaby. I know Kirsten would be happy to answer me, but I wanted to tell you guys this, to let you know ALWAYS (Realy, always) change lenses/body (lensbaby or not) above a table protected with a towel or anything. Thats the way I always do. But this time I thought I could switch quick to not miss the moment. I f*cked up. Big time.

Hi-
I am about to do some wedding shots for a friend alongside their professional photographer - I'm going to be the one to take more non-traditional shots. I have the Lensbaby Scout with various optics and the Sweet 35. I haven't used my Lensbaby in this capacity before and was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks that would help me? I have a Canon T2i and I'm planning on using on-board flash and it's an indoor wedding at a bar.

Would it be better to just use the Sweet 35 so I don't have to worry about changing optics and the aperture discs? Can you change the optics while the lens is on the camera or do you have to take it off?

Sorry to be long winded, but I'm a little nervous.

Thank you for all the help and tips!

I just found out about these amazing lenses and I wanna have a first go.

I don't mind the fluidity and randomness of SPARK and MUSE I think.

The question is this:
Do you think that the fixed apperture of 5.6 in SPARK is really limiting? Will I have problems with shooting just with that?

I have a Canond 60D
many thanks!

I cannot seem to get the D90 shutter to fire or trigger the sb900 flash unit either through using the pop up flash in Commander mode or using the pocket wizard remote.

The camera is in manual mode but as soon as I pop up the flash the shutter seems disabled. The same with the Pocket wizard.

Both means work on my Nikon D800 so it is not the SB900 or the Pocket wizards at fault.

It is not a focussing issue because the lensbaby and the D90 work well in natural light even with the focus knocked right off.

It would seem to be a setting on the camera for Flash that I just can't fathom or an issue with the D90.... or user error!

Hey guys,
I have some questions about my Lensbaby Spark, but I can't find somebody here who knows a little bit about Lensbabys. I tested the Lensbaby Spark on the Photokina and had an aperture (hope you call it like this) of 5.6 and then 2 in the spark. I don't know which type of optic is in it and this is why I need your help. :D
I want to buy different apertures like 2 or something and a different optic in it but I don't know where I can buy it.. I went to different camera stores in my hometown (Essen) and they don't even know that there a optics to swap in there.. well yeah. I wrote an email to the mailadress on the lensbaby homepage, but the answer was kind of useless.
So ... can anybody help me please? :D

I am interested in coming into the Lensbaby system in my photographic work.

I have been reading up on it with on the internet however
I have not not found the correct place with the information I would like to have.

What mode does one set their camera (Nikon D80 or Nikon 1) on in order to use the fish eye lens?

I understand one can put in F Stop discs for their F stop
setting. Therefore does one set their camera for shutter speed mode? or does one use the Manual mode in order to get the proper exposure settings?

Once the lensbaby lens is in place can one have their camera decide on the exposure settings automatically or does one have to read the light and then set the setting themselves?

Or is there a web site where I can get this information?

Thank you

Hi everyone! I own a canon 60d and (among other) a scout lens with a fisheye optic. Last week I was taking pictures with them, when I thought of trying to do some video recording with the fisheye lens to see how it came out. I was very surprised when I found that the video looked completely normal to me. Am I missing something? How can this possibly happen? :O

Hi everyone

I'm an old Lensbaby fan from older times. I have both old and these new lens/optic systems.

From the begining of my Edge 80 route I have been in a exposure problem with composer pro and Edge combination. Always, when tilting the optic to those side positions, exposure is moving to loger times and as well to over exposures. Exposure varies several f-stops.

An yes I'm using mostly Av-mode and Canon 5DmkII body.

Do You others have same kind of problems or am I alone with this?

I recently bought an Olympus Pen and keen to use my lensbaby on it. It's a pentax fit for my DSLR, so while I wait for the pentax/MFT adapter to cross the atlantic, I thought I'd try out the 37mm macro adapter on the kit lens. Well, wow!! Presumably because it's for the lensbaby, the concave lens adapter (+10) gives the full lensbaby focus fall of effect - I've attached some of my efforts so far. Hope you like them.

Hi all,

Newbie here, and I feel like a bit of a dill, but I bought my first lensbaby last night - a composer pro, to go on my canon 5dM2 and, I dont know if i'm missing an adapter or what i'm doing wrong but the lensbaby won't go on!

Its seems too small....

Is there a chance the wrong lens was in the box? Or am I missing something?

Please help - really want to get practising!
