aberration sweet 35 woes

when shooting with my sweet 35 wide open i run into aberration problems. I shoot with a Canon T2i and was wondering if i have some settings wrong. most often i shoot in AV it seems to work better with the lensbaby optics. I have shot on M but find exposure is too tricky from shot to shot.

I have to shoot completely in Manual (no input from the camera at all) on the Nikon, but use AP on the Pen MFT.
