Love this thing!

Hello, Lensbaby world!

I replaced my old original LB with a Composer a couple of weeks ago and also picked up the Plastic Optic. I've really been enjoying it. I think it's just such a great tool. I thought the original was too fiddly and random, but the Composer really does work like a "real lens".

Here are a few I took with a 5D along the East River a couple of days ago. PP in LR3 beta.

Thanks for looking!

Nice mono conversions - I really like the view points you have chosen and I think mono works well with the subject.

The composer is my current default - the fact that I can go from fisheye, through superwide, soft focus and 'standard' double optic (and throw in macro and a handful of creative apps) whilst carrying less weight than one of my standard Nikon lenses gives me many more shooting opportunities.

Diane,

That's exactly right. For the way I operate, being able to control the bend and focus separately is much better. That's not to say that others haven't achieved marvelous results with the original and the LB2.0. It's just that the tube-like configuration didn't do it for me.

I also really like that the Composer allows the user to set the resistance of the bend. I think it's great that it'll stay where I put it, but I can still adjust it if I want. To me the only thing that would make the Composer absolutely perfect is if it had an adjustable aperture. I understand that might be impossible given the overall design of the lens, though.

I agree. I have the LB 2.0 and didn't use it much with my 5D and prior. I'm using the new Composer with m4/3rds and live view--bought in 4/3rds mount instead of EF--so I added the .42 WA to give me about 40mm FOV.

Really like this set--I suspect that you, like me, like the ability to control the lens more--and use it like a 'real lens' as you say.

Fiddlee dee Johneee, nice to see your happeee Bendin' the River Eeeeast.

The Composer does give one a different twist to their imagery and it is in my view a more normal type of perspective snapper.

The Original is the real Bender, but it's not an all around image capturer and as simple to use as a Composer.....that's why Craig keeps giving us options of kooolness to Bend stuff with.

Your bridge Bendin' is a perfect example of Composer-in' the scene .
