David, thanks a lot for sharing the Botanical Dancers with me. I really enjoyed them all. The background was drawn and painted with acryl pigments b+w. These days I am experimenting an image consisting of photography and painting. Here I attached a color image of that kind. Enjoy it and any response is welcome! Have a good Sunday!

* Sorry all, excuse me for posting a non-lensbaby image!

Thanks for details on the first image. I like it very much. It reminds me of a book of photos: Botanical Dances by Huntington Witherill. You can see some of his images at

I think he took dried flowers and leaves and placed them in front of different backgrounds. Take a look.

thanks david for your interest in this simple image.
the background of the flowers is a painted paper in black and white.
i put the flowers in a vase and in front of the background. actually it is a group of trees with huge sun behind them. using the f4 aperature ring, i focused the flowers not the stems - that's all. yeah, tricky but sometimes the lack of lighting skill can be helped by the neighbour genre of art.

thanks craig. i targeted the space right before the girl approached the bottom, using the aperture f5.6. of course some bracketting. found that sometimes lensbaby is much easier and quick to focus - esp in the bright sunlight.

So, how did you get that bottom one? Both are intriguing but successfully capturing that kind of action with a lensbaby...cool.
