Pre mature whining !

This is one of my last shots I took with my composer. I have been having the worst week! Last Saturday I dropped my faithful Olympus camera and toasted my second favorite lens next to my composer , my 70-300mm lens. I watched it bounce down hill and land with a sickening crunch. So bummed ! So off to the camera store Sat. night after being forced to stay out all day on a shoot. Luckily the camera still worked for Sat. so I just went with it and shot Lensbaby all day. Well after spending just over five grand on new Nikon gear and 3 lens my Olympus camera body died today taking with it my ability to use my Lensbaby. So long story short until I recover from the cost of the new gear and scrap together some money ( going to try trading in all of my working old gear) I am without my best friend. If you have seen my images anywhere else on loads of other sites you would see I shoot Lensbaby at least 80% of the time. Needless to say I am so depressed , as I will miss most of the autumn colour one of my favorite times for bending. Will replace my baby as quickly as I can maybe a xmas present if Santa is generous after he sees the bill from all the new gear. It is bitter sweet new gear as it also means you have to replace everything from filters to lens and everything in between.

The camera Gods have decided I have had enough and are shining on me again. I found a used oly body online last night for a quarter of the cost of the new composer pro. Lensbaby so my whining was a little per mature .. Picked it up at noon and it works beautifully so my camera family are back together again! Just a few filters and a extra battery and I am back where I was before all my drama! Thanks for putting up with all my whining I very much appreciated your support ! Thanks for being there through the ruff patch this week! Cheers and may the camera gods always be smiling on you!!!

Thank you both ,Tony this was a fear of mine as my oly handles colour so beautifully , did not want to up grade to the newest oly as rumors are they are getting out of the slr business. It did not make since to put more money in to better oly gear, so Nikon it was . I have already noticed a change in colour range with the Nikon . Thanks for the heads up! Cheers

Bummer, Lorna. If I read this right you are swapping over to Nikon. Lorna if you are going Nikon, keep one eye open for a cheap 2nd hand Fuji S5.I have had 7 different Nikon digital cameras and not one of them matches the Fuji for color or dynamic range. Sure,in some ways the Nikons are better. but nothing that affects LB shooting. I am finding you can only edit SF shots so far with the Nikon captures & then tones tend to band & separate. This is not so much the case with the Fuji captures. It has 2 sets of pixels on the chip, one normal and one to specifically capture highlights, then the 2 captures are blended in camera. This means rarely is color affected by one channel blowing out & much nicer graduations into the highlights, much more film like.
Wow another new beginning, you lucky girl.:) tony

Wow - that's quite a story. So happy it had a happy ending!

I once dropped my Canon DSLR on a wood floor (inside an Opera House) - for no reason. I just dropped it! But I had my LB 2.0 on and it bounced off of that - no harm done. ha! Just one more reason why I love my old school LB's. :)

And the pumpkins - love them!
