"LENSBABIES HAVE A NATURAL, DREAMY FEEL TO THEM; THEY INSPIRE PHOTOGRAPHS THAT REMIND ME OF MEMORIES," SAYS CINEMATOGRAPHER ERIC SCHMIDT, WHO IS FEATURED IN THE MARCH 2008 ISSUE OF ICG MAGAZINE.
An article by David Heuring, titled "Who’s the Boss," describes the the video shoot for Bruce Springsteen’s single, Girls in Their Summer Clothes, directed by Mark Pellington, with Eric acting as cinematographer. Please check out the video to the right and view the article here.
In the photos to the right, Eric offers fellow Lensbaby users a view of his creative process: He describes the first image as "a Lensbaby photo that I took in South Africa two years ago that got me thinking about using Lensbaby for cinematography. It was also my first day of ever using the Lensbaby!"
In the following images are a Lensbaby photograph Eric took of his wife on the beach at Montauk, NY which became the inspiration for the shooting style of the Bruce Springsteen video and a look at Eric working on the set for "The Girls in Their Summer Clothes" shoot.
UPDATE: Eric teamed up again with director Mark Pellington in 2010 to shoot an independent film titled "I Melt with You." Check out an interview with Pellington and Schmidt by HDVideo Pro.
